A Pensacola man is accusing of sexual battery of a year-old boy he had met on a gay social media application, according to authorities. Mitchell Robison Handley, 45, was charged with sexual battery of a minor, a second-degree felony, for the incident Sunday. According to Handley's Pensacola Police Department arrest report, he met the victim on social media app Grindr in December and they had been in contact since then on various other social media platforms.
The victim said when Handley arrived, he got into his vehicle and went to Handley's Livingston Road home, where they had sex, according to the report. The person who reported the incident, whose relationship to the victim isn't listed in the report, said he found the victim's location on his cellphone and went to the Dairy Queen to find the victim wasn't there. He waited to allegedly see Handley bring the boy back just after 10 p.
The man told police he confronted Handley, and Handley accelerated and left the parking lot.
PPD interviewed Handley the same night, and he said he and the victim were friends. Handley said the man who reported the abuse was mad because he thought Handley and the child were dating, and Handley allegedly told police there would not be an issue if the two were dating because he's dated younger guys in the past.
